beautiful blues

29.01.2010

Yesterday brought treasures - a couple of new pieces from MATERIALBYPRODUCT.

Two (just two) silk bind necklaces with wooden beads... pictured below with the studio label still pinned on because I had a moment of thinking it looked very striking with, although it can certainly be worn without.

And, four (just four) stunning pleated skirts. The 'dispersion' print of the skirts is variable, particularly in colour, but beautifully so - a range of soft blueish greys or greyish blues with hints of sand and stripes of indigo. Like everything that captivates, the effect is reminiscent of many things but nothing you can satisfactorily put your finger on.

Speaking of greyish blues - isn't this MüCKE shirt dress lovely? It's reconstructed from what would have been a very questionable mens shirt.

As Ellie's tag says,

'This item is a remix of outmoded stuff your parents would have loved. It's part of the weird natural laws of evolution that this sort of item will change over time. Don't stress. It's all carefully planned to make you increasingly desirable in the coming decades. Just like your parents.'
